Ana Gubenšek is an assistant researcher at InnoRenew CoE and a PhD student at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, University of Primorska.

She completed her bachelor’s and master’s theses in microbiology at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. She is interested in researching fungi. At InnoRenew CoE she works with the Materials research department led by Dr. Anna Sandak. She is working on ARCHI-SKIN project and as part of her doctoral thesis she is studying morphological, functional and social interactions in fungal societies (biofilms).

She likes to spend her free time in nature with her family and friends, enjoys reading and baking various desserts.
