InnoRenew CoE, together with UP FAMNIT, hosted the National Biology Competition for the Proteus Award, organised by the Association for Technical Culture of Slovenia (ATCS), held on 14 March 2026. The competition, now in its 25th year, brings together students from different parts of Slovenia.

A total of 2,032 students participated in the school-level round this year, with 483 advancing to the national competition. The top four will make up Slovenia’s team for the Biology Olympiad.

The Proteus Award highlights outstanding achievement in biology among secondary school students. By hosting the national round, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, contributed to the promotion of science education and supported the development of future scientific talent.

The day before, UP Famnit hosted the international Náboj mathematics competition, where students tested their problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
