The project Simulation and optimisation of potential valorization routes for lower quality wood in Slovenia’s kick-off meeting

Project partners of Simulation and optimisation of potential valorization routes for lower quality wood in Slovenia met at the kick-off meeting, held at InnoRenew CoE.

The meeting began with the discussion about the negative aspects of global climate crisis. The project focuses on finding the best way to use lower-quality wood more efficiently, that is why the discussion was mainly focused on increasing lower-quality woods economic and environmental potential. Participants discussed how lower-quality wood could be turned into products with higher added value and a longer lifespan.

Slovenia is rich in forests and has a long tradition of sustainable forest management. This is why it is in an excellent position to move towards a low-carbon economy. Using wood as a material helps with storing carbon and reduces CO₂ emissions compared to more polluting materials.

Besides InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, project partners are: University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical faculty and Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport.
