At the ceremony was graduated also dr. Nežka Sajinčič, who was developing her research topic under supervision of prof. dr. Petra Dolenc and co-mentorship of izr. prof. dr. Anna Sandak. In her dissertation she explored how auditory emotional design and same-language subtitles affect learning in a foreign language.
Specifically, two between-subjects experiments tested the impact of the narrator’s tone and background music on learning, cognitive load, and emotions in educational videos on sustainable construction. Study one involved 229 students and found that an enthusiastic tone of the narrator helped lower-proficiency learners but hindered higher-proficiency ones, while subtitles reduced cognitive load. Study two included 307 students and showed that calm music reduced negative activating emotions but did not improve learning.
Additionally, they graduated Dr. Carmen Oven, dr. Maruška Željeznov Seničar, dr. Robert Pavlin, dr. Milja Marčeta, dr. Rok Vatovec, dr. Borut Petelin, dr. Dragan Jovanović, dr. Leon Vrtovec, dr.
