On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, the University of Primorska celebrated Rector’s Day, bringing together staff from across the university in the spirit of socialising, getting to know each other and strengthening team spirit.

The programme included a variety of activities, from workshops and cultural events to sports and social gatherings. As part of the programme, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, hosted a guided tour of its building and laboratories in Izola.

The tour was led by Dr. Matthew Schwarzkopf, InnoRenew CoE researcher, who introduced participants to the building’s design and innovative features, as well as the different laboratories and the research carried out there. Participants learned how the facilities support research in sustainable construction, bio-based materials, human health, acoustics and related fields.
