InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM hosted the first Advisory Board meeting, held 9–10 July 2026 in Izola, Slovenia.

The meeting marked the beginning of the Advisory Board’s work in supporting the strategic development of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM in its new phase under the University of Primorska. The Advisory Board consists of Duncan Mayes (Finland), Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (Germany) and Milan Vatovec (USA).

At the meeting, Dr. Andreja Kutnar, department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, presented the transition of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM under the University of Primorska. She also introduced the Andrej Marušič Institute and the University of Primorska. Dr. Mike Burnard, Deputy Department Chair at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, gave an overview of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM’s ongoing projects and activities, while research group leaders presented the development plans of their research groups.

The Advisory Board members provided constructive feedback and recommendations on the presented activities and discussed opportunities for the future development of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM. The meeting concluded with discussions on the role of the Advisory Board and the objectives of the next meeting.
