InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher attended the 12th Conference on Green Chemistry & Nanotechnologies in Polymeric Materials (GCNPM 2026), held 15–17 June 2026, in Donostia–San Sebastián, Spain.

Amina Selmanović, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, presented a poster titled Structural Characterization and Solvent Resistance Assessment of Enzymatically Functionalized Tropical Wood Extractives from Industrial Residues. The presented research examined the enzymatic modification of wood extractives recovered from industrial residues of tropical wood species. The results indicated changes in the structural organization of the extractives and improved solvent resistance after treatment, highlighting their potential for future bio-based wood protection applications.

The conference brought together scientists, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss recent advances in green chemistry and polymer science. The programme covered topics including biobased polymers, polymer recycling and upcycling, sustainable polymer production, environmentally friendly polymerizations, polymer nanotechnologies and solutions to address global plastic pollution.
