Participants of the Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy Summer School 2026 from the University of Primorska, Oregon State University, Saarland University and partner institutions continued their two-week programme on 16 June 2026, dedicated to sustainability, innovation and the circular economy.
The day began with a visit to the forest in Kočevje, where participants met the “Queen of Rog”, a 55-metre-high silver fir. Guided by Petra, the group continued through the forest to the Rajhenavski Rog primeval forest, learning more about one of Slovenia’s most remarkable natural environments.
The day continued with a visit to Yaskawa, a company specialising in robotics development and production. Erik introduced the participants to the company and its main areas of work, followed by a guided tour of the campus.
The second day offered a unique combination of natural heritage and advanced technology, highlighting the diverse perspectives that contribute to a more sustainable future.
Led by faculty from the University of Primorska and Oregon State University (USA), the Summer School is organised by UP FAMNIT, UP IAM and the NEBAP Hub in collaboration with Oregon State University, a global partner of the T4EU Alliance. As such this summer school presents a crucial step in strengthening the global relevance of T4EU and its partners.
