Dr. Wojciech Pajerski and Dr. Jakub Grzybek, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researchers, visited Stellenbosch University in South Africa, as part of the Teaching Staff Exchange within Erasmus+ Programme (KA171), delivering a hands-on course for students and faculty members from the Department of Forest and Wood Science, Stellenbosch University.

Dr. Pajerski and Dr. Grzybek presented sustainability-driven approaches at the interface of biology and materials science, with a focus on Engineered Living Materials (ELMs). They highlighted how living systems can inspire the development of next-generation materials, including adaptive and environmentally integrated solutions.

The sessions combined lectures with interactive exercises, encouraging participants to rethink traditional material design through a bioinspired lens.

The mobility strengthens collaboration between the InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM and Stellenbosch University, supporting knowledge exchange in sustainable and innovative material design.
