Dr. Andreja Kutnar, department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, participated in the International Scientific Reference Group meeting on “Knowledge Foundation Research Profile: Competitive Timber Structures – Resource efficiency and climate benefits along the wood value chain through engineering design,” held on 18 May 2026, at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM in Izola, Slovenia.

Participants reviewed the progress of the research profile, conducted a self-assessment and addressed earlier recommendations as well as new discussion points. They also discussed the scientific profiling of the research environment, including scientific impact, industry collaborations and engineering applications and implementation.

Additional discussions focused on the profiling of the education environment, including advanced and commissioned education, as well as further interaction with the international scientific reference group.
