Submission Deadline Extended – IRIC2025

The International Conference InnoRenew CoE 2025 (IRIC2025) “From lab to life: innovative solutions for a healthier and greener built environment”, invites submissions of abstracts and active participation at the conference until 8 July 2025.

The conference will be held 16-17 September 2025, at the InnoRenew CoE building in Izola.

It provides an opportunity to share and discuss emerging science and innovations in renewable materials that can be used in the built environment to enhance human and environmental well-being. We invite you to submit your doctoral research, ongoing research, methodology discussions, or preliminary results. Especially early career researchers are welcome!

This year’s thematic sections are related to advanced manufacturing, information processing, creativity & society, buildings, health, and materials.

You are kindly invited to submit your abstract until 8 July 2025 and join IRIC2025!

Keynote speakers will be Rebecca Williams and Sumea Klokic.

Rebecca Williams is a public speaking, storytelling, and presentation expert. She has served as a public speaking coach at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has trained professionals and teams at organizations including Google, Meta, and Netflix.

Sumea Klokic is focusing in her research on the structural and chemical characterization of materials used in sustainable and environmental applications, particularly in the fields of energy storage and CO₂ capture. She develops multidisciplinary approaches to monitor stimuli-driven, dynamic processes in materials by combining synchrotron-based techniques such as small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and infrared spectroscopy with complementary tools like quartz crystal microbalance (QCM).

We will host a workshop of MEZeroE project: Open Innovation Test Bed for building envelope products: how can open innovation lead to better building envelopes?

The aim of this workshop is to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of MEZeroE OITB (Open Innovation Test Bed) as currently constructed. To do so at the workshop speakers – Francesco Babich, Olaia Aurrekoetxea-Arratibel, Urška Blumauer, Akshit Gupta and Žiga Kraškovic – will present the project and the issues they are addressing, followed by four thematic interactive sessions about lab and technical support, services for certification and open innovation support, real-world performance analysis in real buildings, and industry perspective.
