On Friday, 15 November 2024, InnoRenew CoE hosted a strategic visit of the representatives of the Primorsko-notranjska region, which was co-organized by the Centre for Development and Knowledge Transfer at the Faculty of management, University of Primorska and RRA Zeleni kras.
Participants were welcomed and addressed by prof. dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE Director and the Mayor of the Municipality of Izola Milan Bogatič.
Prof. dr. Andreja Kutnar also presented the InnoRenew CoE and some of its key activities, while prof. dr. Klavdija Kutnar, Rector of the University of Primorska, highlighted the main characteristics and areas of activity of the university. Prof. dr. Simona Kustec, Head of the Centre for Development and Knowledge Transfer (CRPZ) of UP FM, shared with participants information about the centre and some of the projects they are currently implementing. A discussion followed about the possibilities of further cooperation, especially with the local economy and with wood-processing companies. Prof. dr. Andreja Kutnar gave a presentation and tour of the institute’s building and research laboratories.
Among participants were mayors of municipalities from the Primorsko-notranjska region, namely from Pivka, Postojna, Ilirska Bistrica, Bloke, Loška dolina and Cerknica. In addition, the event was also attended by representatives of the RRA Zeleni kras, members of the Postojna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and key wood-processing companies in the Primorsko-notranjska region.
The strategic visit was of particular importance for strengthening cooperation between the academic, research and economic spheres and created an opportunity for closer networking of various actors important for the sustainable development of the region.
