Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, was a guest lecturer at the International Summer School “Wood and the City, ZHAW Summer School 2024”, organized by the School of Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering’s Institute of Urban Landscape.
She presented to participants the New European Bauhaus (NEB) and the role of wood in construction. Additionally, she introduced the NEBA Alliance, its goals and activities.
In this year’s International Summer School, participants explored the concept of design for “Care & Repair”. They discussed about different ways of using and reusing wood and other bio-based construction materials by simultaneously looking back and forward in time. Through the analysis of past traditions, current innovations and the carrying capacity of the landscape they envisioned future architectures.
