Meeting with Shigeru Ban at the Festival of the New European Bauhaus

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, and Eva Prelovšek Niemelä, InnoRenew CoE architect and head of research department for Creativity & Society, meet with Shigeru Ban at the Festival of the New European Bauhaus.

Shigeru Ban is a Japanese architect, known for his innovative work with paper, particularly recycled cardboard tubes used to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims. In 2014, Ban was named the 37th recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the most prestigious prize in modern architecture.

Together with dr. Kutnar and Eva Prelovšek Niemelä they discussed the use of CLT is public buildings like hospital in Europe, requirements and regulations.

The Festival of the New European Bauhaus is taking place 9-13 April in Brussels. During interactive sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and artistic performances, participants can  discover and experience the innovative power of Europe in building a common future that is not only visually stunning but also mindful of our collective well-being.
