European Researchers’ Night 2022

InnoRenew CoE joined the University of Primorska (UP) for European Researchers’ Night, held on Friday, 30 September 2022. This year’s event brought together two Slovenian projects, Humanities, that’s you!, which highlighted the coexistence of humans and animals, and Night has its power!, in which research institutions opened their doors to visitors.

Jaka Pečnik, Vesna Starman, Dr. Črtomir Tavzes and Dr. Daša Majcen, welcomed many young visitors in the new InnoRenew CoE building, and introduced them to the largest building in Slovenia and its laboratories. They presented some experiments and research and taught them about the main characteristics of wood, the importance of timber construction and sustainability, and the diversity of professions in the wood sector.

As stated on the European Researchers’ Night webpage, “The main objectives of such events are to bring researchers closer to the general public, to inspire the youth to embark on science careers and increase awareness of researchers’ profession.”
