BIOEAST – Initiative for knowledge-based agriculture, aquaculture and forestry in the bioeconomy

Today, Dr Daša Majcen, InnoRenew CoE researcher, took part in a workshop of the Horizon Europe CSA project BIOEAST in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The Central-Eastern European Initiative for Knowledge-based Agriculture, Aquaculture and Forestry in the Bioeconomy – BIOEAST – offers a common political commitment and is providing a shared strategic research and innovation framework for working towards sustainable bioeconomies in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.

The BIOEAST Vision for 2030 paves the way for the comprehensive BIOEAST Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda Report (SRIA). The SRIA will provide relevant and high-quality strategic research policy advice in the evolving landscape of the broader bioeconomy and related sectors in the key BIOEAST thematic areas:

• Agroecology and Sustainable Yields
• Food Systems
• Bioenergy and New Value-added Materials
• Advanced Biochemical and Biomaterials
• Forestry Value Chains
• Freshwater-based Bioeconomy
• Bioeconomy Education

Dr Majcen provided comments to the emerging BIOEAST SRIA 1.0 Report in the thematic area of Forestry Value Chains.
