The largest festival of architecture, real estate and quality development, Open Houses Slovenia (OHS), takes place this year from 27–29 May across Slovenia. The festival’s mission is to bring quality Slovenian architecture to the general public.

“Architecture in a New Reality” is the theme of this year’s event. The organizers aim to stimulate dialogue on the role and importance of architecture in times of major social and environmental change.

The three-day architecture festival’s program opens the doors of selected apartments and family houses, kindergartens and schools, commercial and cultural institutions, libraries and creative spaces for artists, as well as several tourist facilities and sports buildings.

In Izola, visitors will have the opportunity to see the InnoRenew CoE building (Saturday, 28 May 2022 at 14:00 and 15:00), which is the largest wooden building in Slovenia to date, built following the principles of sustainable development and taking into account the latest architectural know-how. For the first time in Slovenia, the interior was designed according to REED principles. The concept is characterized by the use of a single material; all the cladding and most of the joinery are wooden.
