Dr. Ana Slavec, InnoRenew CoE researcher and consulting statistician, published an article, “Underrated Innovativeness of Micro-Enterprises Compared to Small to Medium Enterprises in the Slovenian Forest-Wood Sector,” in Sustainability.

“Based on a survey of companies in the forest-wood sector that we conducted in 2019, this article shows that micro-enterprises can be at least as innovative as small and medium enterprises or even more so,” Dr. Slavec said.

“They give a high importance to product improvements and have more innovations in goods, services and distribution methods,” she added. “The policy implication of the study is that research data collection on innovation activities should include also micro-enterprises.”
