Dr Andreja Kutnar became a full professor

Today, 12 March 2021, Dr Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE’s director, had her inauguration lecture, “Wood Modification”, at the University of Primorska Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (UP FAMNIT).

With this inauguration lecture, Dr Kutnar officially became a full professor of wood science and a research counsellor at UP FAMNIT. She was previously elected to this title in March 2020, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, her inauguration lecture was postponed until this year.

Dr Kutnar has been active as an academic at the University of Primorska since 2012. In 2015, she became an associate professor and co-coordinator of the sustainable built environments master’s program. In 2020, UP FAMNIT successfully achieved a new doctoral program, renewable materials for healthy built environments, under the coordinaton of Dr Kutnar.

“Being a professor is of great honour to me,” said Dr Kutnar. “Teaching and transferring knowledge to younger generations has always been a great joy for me as I enjoy observing how young students are developing and making their first steps in professional paths. At the same time, their positive energy and new ideas are always very inspiring for me.”

Congratulations!
