Dr Anna Sandak and Dr Jakub Sandak, InnoRenew CoE researchers, together with colleagues Marion Noël from the Institute Materials and Wood Technology at Bern University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland and Athanasios Dimitriou from the BioComposites Centre, Bangor University in the UK, recently published a scientific article, “A Method for Accelerated Natural Weathering of Wood Subsurface and Its Multilevel Characterization”, in Coatings.

The goal of the presented research was to develop a method for the acceleration of natural weathering and investigate the molecular, microstructure and macrostructure degradation of wood caused by the process.

Coatings is an online, open access, peer-reviewed journal with an impact factor of 2.436 that is published monthly and features contributions about coatings and surface engineering.
