InnoRenew CoE active in the pharaon project

InnoRenew CoE is a partner in the Horizon 2020 project “Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing” (pharaon). Twelve countries are included in the project, represented by 41 partners.

The main objective of pharaon is to make smart and active living a reality for Europe’s ageing population. The project aims to accomplish this by creating a set of integrated, highly customizable and interoperable open platforms with advanced services, devices and tools. Before creating the final platform, there will be six small-scale pilots developed in five countries, including Slovenia.

The Slovenian pilot consists of passive monitoring with several sensing devices (wearables, sensors imbedded in furniture, environmental sensors) in order to improve the overall well-being of residents. At the same time, this will positively affect professional caregivers since they will have the ability to respond to the needs of pilot site residents and gain more information about them.

The pilot site in Slovenia is in the Retirement Home Izola (Dom upokojencev Izola). Some project activities have already taken place there, like the installation of a television, while others are still under preparation. Visits are currently prohibited because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so the pharaon project has already provided means (the television) through which retirement home residents can connect and talk with their relatives from a distance.

You can watch the video (from 17:35 on) published on Primorska kronika to learn more about the pharaon project and you are kindly invited to watch the video bellow to learn more about the Slovenian pilot.
