President Pahor’s Consultative Committee for Climate Policy encourages sustainable practices

Slovenian President Borut Pahor’s Consultative Committee for Climate Policy sent the Republic of Slovenia’s government eight recommendations on Friday, 20 November 2020.

The committee, of which Dr Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, is a member, calls for effective renovation of existing buildings as an investment in sustainable construction with natural materials from renewable sources.

Moreover, the committee proposes that the government encourage the employment of young people and the unemployed in green jobs, such as sustainable construction and energy renovation of buildings. In addition, the committee suggests preparation of a program to encourage investment in industry to build safe and healthy built environments with renewable materials as well as  favourable conditions for research, development and innovation in the field of sustainable construction.

These topics are interesting to InnoRenew CoE, whose field of research is renewable materials and healthy built environments.
