The Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership – Networks for the transition into circular economy (SRIP – Circular economy) organized an online conference, “Challenges and opportunities for the industry – circular, low-carbon and smart buildings”, on 6 November 2020.

Dr. Iztok Šušteršič, research group leader for InnoRenew CoE’s Sustainable Building with Renewable Materials group, presented his view about the role of multistory timber buildings in sustainable construction.

Other speakers highlighted the overall construction value chain, role of circular economy and decarbonization and added value of sustainable construction. They also discussed the current situation in Slovenia and future strategy for the country’s competitiveness in construction as well as its efficient use of construction resources and waste.
