On Thursday, 9 January 2020, Dr. Ana Slavec, RDA Europe Ambassador for Renewable Materials and Products and consulting statistician at InnoRenew CoE, held a workshop on research data management for renewable materials and products.

Workshop participants learned about key concepts in research data management and how to share data in a responsible way in line with FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable). Moreover, Dr. Slavec presented best practices for using spreadsheets to manage data, and, during a practical session, participants wrote a data management plan.

Dr. Slavec expressed her pleasure to see that many people were interested in this workshop, adding, “This proves that researchers are aware about the importance of knowing how to manage research data. This will be very important in the upcoming new projects in the framework programme Horizon Europe. I hope that researchers will continue with the preparation of data, which they started at the workshop, and undertake further education in this field. Some of them might join the RDA.”
