University of Primorska names Dr DeVallance as vice rector for internationalization

Prof Dr Klavdija Kutnar was inaugurated as Rector of University of Primorska on Monday, 25 November 2019. After eight years of leadership, former rector Prof Dr Dragan Marušič handed over his rector’s honour and duty during the fifth official UP inauguration ceremony for new rector.

Professor Kutnar, who was elected to her new position on 23 May of this year, was the first PhD student at UP’s Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies. She has set clear goals for her leadership period at the University, among the most important of which are to obtain at least one European Research Council project, strengthen the Board of Trustees and UP-Scholarship Fund as well as increase the share of funds for higher education and research.

Dr David B. DeVallance, InnoRenew CoE research group leader for Renewable Materials Composites, was named to Professor Kutnar’s new leadership team. Dr DeVallance will serve as UP’s Vice Rector for Internationalization.

Dr DeVallance is sincerely congratulated on his new, important role at the University of Primorska.
