Dr Anna Sandak at two international conferences

Dr Anna Sandak, research group leader for Wood Modification at the InnoRenew CoE, recently joined two international conferences.

Dr Sandak was an invited speaker at the Healthy houses, healthy interior 2019, Identity SK conference, held 26-28 September and co-organized by the Faculty of Architecture at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and arTUR, a non-governmental organization for sustainable architecture. Her presentation highlighted bio-based building envelopes and focused mostly on challenges and perspectives.

Later, Dr Sandak participated in the International Panel Products Symposium (IPPS 2019), which takes place every two years, hosted in Bangor, UK.

At IPPS 2019, Dr Sandak gave a presentation entitled “Service life performance of bio-based composites”. She also chaired the “Horizon Scanning – Emerging Themes” session about upcoming trends in wood panels, circular economy and engineering. According to Dr Sandak, the IPPS 2019 conference was a great place for networking and discussing developments with her fellow scientists and industry representatives.
