Projects »the Creative Path to Knowledge« (po kreativni poti do znanja) are aimed to foster collaboration between higher education system and the industry. Moreover, they offer students a possibility to gain competencies and experiences that are needed for transitioning from the school system into working life. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the European Union. The focus is for students to find creative and innovative solutions to practical challenges in the corporate sector. These students are guided by mentors offering expert support.
The InnoRenew CoE successfully applied for three projects. Aleksandar Tošić, an assistant researcher at the InnoRenew CoE is the industry mentor in the Development of an application for collecting waste wood – RecAPPture project. The aim of project in to develop a mobile and online application that will connect users who want to get rid of waste wood and companies that would like to use the waste wood to produce wooden windows.
There are six undergraduate and master students collaborating in this project. Five students are from different programmes of the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies from the University of Primorska and one student is from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design from the University of Ljubljana.
