12 March 2018
On Monday, 12 March 2018, the director of the InnoRenew CoE Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andreja Kutnar and the Deputy director Michael Burnard took part of the COST Info Day in Ljubljana. The main purpose of the event is to encourage greater participation of researchers from Slovenia in European research activities.
Slovenia has a long history of involvement with different COST actions. In the last years the number of participants from Slovenia taking part in COST Actions has considerably increased. Today, Slovenian researchers participate in 260 running COST Actions.
At the Info Day there were several presentations, including one by the COST program Director Ronald de Bruin. They discussed the promotion and spreading research excellence, about strengthening Europe’s Science Base, and about what COST actions are, how they work, and how you can become a part of it. Dr. Kutnar, Chair of COST Action, Understanding wood modification through an integrated scientific and environmental impact approach (ModWoodLife), and Michel Burnard, Vice Chair of Indoor living space improvement: Smart Habitat for the Elderly, presented their experience with the involvement and leadership of COST actions.
COST actions are important for research and innovation activities, and they offer many opportunities to young researchers.
