The director of InnoRenew CoE, Dr Andreja Kutnar, travelled to Helsinki. She visited the company, Stora Enso, and she meet with Duncan Mayes, the chair of InnoRenew CoE Council of Experts and Vice President of the Group R&D, Technology and Innovation at Stora Enso. They discussed the research, development, and innovation plan of the InnoRenew CoE, as well as projects under development.

Furthermore, Andreja met with Dr Lauri Rautkari from Aalto University. We will be strengthening our collaboration by working on joint projects. She met also with Muhammad Awais who is a PhD student at Aalto University and working on a joint project with the InnoRenew CoE. Additionally at the InnoRenew CoE, he is as an assistant researcher working on surface modification of wood.

Dr Kutnar is preparing a book on the topic of wood modification technologies in collaboration with Dr Dick Sandberg and Dr Olov Karlsson from Lulea University in Sweden. They met and progressed on the book that will be published by the Taylor & Francis Group.

The productive visit to Helsinki was completed by a meeting with Eric Hansen, our global expert. Mainly they discussed our future projects in the field of open innovation at the InnoRenew CoE.
