Site visit of the wooden kindergarten Pedenjped

19 December 2017

They are building a new wooden kindergarten Pedenjped in Kašelj, near Ljubljana. Dr Iztok Šušteršič organized the site visit which was attended by Dr Boris Azinović and Dr Miha Kramar from ZAG, and our researcher and architect Eva Prelovšek Niemelä.

Dr Šušteršič collaborated on this project, mostly with construction planning.

The kindergarten is built from laminated wooden beams and peripheral CLT panels. The planning of the geometry of the roof and carriers was quite difficult due to the round shape of the building. Round peripheral walls were also a challenge when installing windows. Special attention was dedicated to the junction of wooden parts with the steel elements.
