Research exchange, Germany

December, 2017

Dr Jure Pohleven, a researcher at InnoRenew CoE, spent 2 weeks in Germany completing a research exchange.

He first visited Prof. Dr. Holger Militz at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, where he was introduced to the methods for determining formaldehyde content in wood samples (flask, gas analysis, and perforator method).

Then he visited Dr. Jan Gunschera at Fraunhofer WKI in Braunschweig, Germany. While there he presented about his research at the InnoRenew CoE. Jure is focused on the beneficial effects of volatile organic compounds from wood on the well-being of humans. The discussion following his lecture was lively and interesting.

We look forward to future collaborations with our German colleagues.
