Donya Bazyar

Assistant researcher

Donya is an assistant researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Primorska, specializing in sustainable construction. Her research focuses on the design for deconstruction of hybrid timber building systems, aiming to improve their reusability, adaptability, and environmental performance.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Railway Track and Structures Engineering and a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management. Before transitioning into research, Donya gained several years of experience in road and railway engineering in Iran, contributing to various infrastructure projects, particularly in the design and construction of road and railway substructures and superstructures.

Donya has a passion for the arts, including acting and singing, and enjoys rock climbing.
