The InnoRenew CoE hosted wood construction professionals from Japan

A group of wood construction professionals from Japan recently visited the InnoRenew CoE and the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) at ZAG’s facilities in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The visitors were touring central Europe to learn about the state-of-the-art, best practices and new research in cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction in the region. Researchers from ZAG and the InnoRenew CoE presented their ongoing timber construction research work, trends related to human health in the built environment and recent CLT construction projects in Slovenia.

Dr Michael Burnard, the InnoRenew CoE deputy director, was happy to participate in the event.

“Having the opportunity to meet such a highly interested group of construction professionals from Japan was really wonderful,” he said. “It was a great honour to be selected to meet with the group, present our work and represent Slovenia in the area of wood construction.”
