On Thursday, 8 October 2026, UP FAMNIT hosted the 12th SCORES student conference – the Student Computing Research Symposium, which took place at the InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM building.

This student research conference is organised jointly by the University of Primorska (UP), in collaboration with the University of Ljubljana (UL) and the University of Maribor (UM). The aim of the conference is to encourage students to present and publish research work in the field of computing, thereby strengthening their collaboration and creativity. It is therefore aimed at students on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, who may submit research papers from all areas of computing.

As part of the conference programme, Dr. Michael Burnard, Deputy Department Chair at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM also guided participants on a tour of the laboratories at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, introducing them to the research carried out there.

This year’s conference was attended by 37 students, with the keynote speakers being Assist.  Domen Vake (UP FAMNIT) and Dr. Eric Gottlieb (Rhodes College, Department of Mathematics and Statistics).
