InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM hosted a delegation from the University of Maribor (UM) on 1 October 2026. The visit was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Hölbl, Vice-Rector for Science and Research and Prof. Dr. Miralem Hadžiselimović, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure, from the University of Maribor, as well as Prof. Dr. Štefko Miklavič, Vice-Rector for Research and Development at the University of Primorska.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Andreja Kutnar, Department Chair at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM. Dr. Michael Burnard, Deputy Department Chair at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, guided the guests through the building and laboratories, presenting the research infrastructure, research environment and current research activities of the centre.

The visit aimed to further strengthen cooperation and partnership between the University of Maribor and InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM and to exchange views on future joint research activities. Discussions also focused on the joint development of the HB-SAXS beamline as part of Elettra 2.0, which will provide new opportunities for materials research and further collaboration between research institutions.

The occasion also brought together representatives of the leadership of the University of Maribor and the University of Primorska, providing an opportunity to further develop joint research activities and strengthen cooperation between the institutions.
