Aleksandra Rakinić Vidmar, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM architect, contributed to the Palace Cukrarna – Baza project, which received the Golden Pencil Award 2026, presented by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS).

Designed by the architectural office Scapelab In, the project provides space for the Youth Centre Baza, creating a dialogue between the historic fabric of the former Palace Cukrarna and the needs of contemporary users. According to ZAPS, the project thoughtfully integrates existing historical layers with new architectural interventions, creating an authentic architectural expression while fostering creativity, community development and social responsibility.

The Golden Pencil Award is presented by ZAPS for outstanding architectural realisations.
