InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM hosted the RENASCENCE consortium meeting as part of the project Robust (re)Design of Material Flow in Circular Networks (RENASCENCE), held 16–17 September 2026.
The project, led by Dr. Balazs David, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, brings together partners from InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM and the HUN-REN Institute for Computer Science and Control from Hungary. During the meeting, project partners reviewed the progress and achievements of the first nine months of the project, discussed ongoing activities and upcoming results, and coordinated tasks for the next stages of the project.
The meeting included discussions on the literature review, the development of robust approaches for the design and modelling of material flows in circular networks, and the redesign and validation of material flows. Partners also addressed challenges related to disruptions in material flows, methods, algorithms and metaheuristics, as well as the COPROLOOPS simulation framework. They also discussed realistic use cases, input data sources, modelling and validation.
The consortium also reviewed communication and dissemination activities and plans for scientific publications and conference presentations in the second year of the project. The meeting concluded with the definition of short-term activities, task allocation and risk management. Partners also planned the next consortium meeting in Budapest.
