ŠtartUP is an event that brings together both first-year students and students from higher years at the start of the new academic year, offering an opportunity to discover extracurricular activities available in the wider local community.

In one place, you’ll meet a variety of associations, organizations, institutions, communities, companies and other providers of extracurricular activities. You might find a new hobby, discover an activity that will become a memorable part of your student years, or simply learn something new.

Explore the activities through an interactive stamp-collecting challenge at the different stands. Collect enough stamps and you’ll receive a surprise at the end – a gift bag.

ŠtartUP is more than just an event – it’s an opportunity to put your phone aside for a few hours, enjoy the company of your classmates, fellow students and UP staff, relax in the sunshine by the sea, and make new connections in a completely informal atmosphere.

ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT

On the day of the event, please check in at the registration desk to receive:

• a temporary tattoo or bracelet (which will serve as your accreditation for the event);
• newly enrolled students (first-year students) will receive a super cool OpenUP T-shirt (*Important: The T-shirt can only be collected at the ŠtartUP event. Later collection will not be possible.);
• a stamp collection card (It features the logos of all exhibitors. Complete an activity at an exhibitor’s stand and collect a stamp. Collect enough stamps and receive a small promotional gift at the end of the event.)

What should you bring?

• a picnic blanket or beach towel (for relaxing by the sea, soaking up the sun and hanging out);
• a reusable water bottle (drinking fountains provided by Rižanski vodovod will be available at the event to keep you refreshed);
• a food container (help us reduce waste and make the event more sustainable. If you have your own container, bring it along.)

The location offers endless opportunities for lounging in the sun.
