The Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy Summer School 2026 with students from the University of Primorska, Saarland University and Oregon State University – Day 8

Participants of the Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy Summer School 2026 from the University of Primorska, Oregon State University, Saarland University and partner institutions continued their two-week programme on 22 June 2026.

The eighth day of the Summer School started with a visit to Umag, where participants toured a five-storey timber building under construction by CBD d.o.o. During the visit, they had the opportunity to see both the construction site and the interior of the building.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, where they learned about traditional salt production techniques and the important role of wood in the equipment used throughout the production process.

The eighth day provided participants with insights into timber construction and the role of wood in traditional salt production.

Led by faculty from the University of Primorska and Oregon State University (USA), the Summer School is organised by UP FAMNIT, UP IAM and the NEBAP Hub in collaboration with Oregon State University, a global partner of the T4EU Alliance. As such this summer school presents a crucial step in strengthening the global relevance of T4EU and its partners.
