The Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy Summer School 2026 with students from the University of Primorska, Saarland University and Oregon State University – Day 4

Participants of the Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy Summer School 2026 from the University of Primorska, Oregon State University, Saarland University and partner institutions continued their two-week programme on 18 June 2026.

The fourth day of the Summer School started with a visit to M Sora in Žiri. Aleš Ugovšek, Chief Executive Officer at the company presented M Sora and answered participants’ questions. The group was then guided through the production line of M Sora’s window architecture, where they learned about the production of wooden and wood-aluminium windows, doors and panoramic windows.

In the afternoon, the group visited Jelovica Homes, where they were given a guided tour through the production line of prefabricated wooden houses. Participants had the opportunity to observe the company’s work process and gain first-hand insight into the production of prefabricated wooden houses.

The fourth day provided participants with insights into the production of wooden building elements and prefabricated timber construction.

Led by faculty from the University of Primorska and Oregon State University (USA), the Summer School is organised by UP FAMNIT, UP IAM and the NEBAP Hub in collaboration with Oregon State University, a global partner of the T4EU Alliance. As such this summer school presents a crucial step in strengthening the global relevance of T4EU and its partners.
