A group of architects and researchers from InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, including mag. Eva Prelovšek Niemela, Aarne Niemela, Zijada Adembegović Hujdurović, dr. Andreja Kutnar and dr. Rok Prislan, was responsible for the conceptual development and design of the desk for the office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia. The project is based on the use of natural materials and locally sourced wood, with an emphasis on sustainable and symbolic spatial design.
The table made from an over 100-year-old oak tree felled in Čabrače in the Poljanska Valley is the centerpiece of the presidential office. The wood was carefully selected from a local forest and then processed for use in the presidential workspace.
The project was developed through collaboration of more than 30 creators from across Slovenia, combining traditional craftsmanship, local knowledge and contemporary design approaches.
With the project of the desk in the Viševnik office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, the aim was to design a workspace combining tradition, history and a modern working environment, with strong symbolic ties to Slovenian wood and forest resources.
