InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, University of Primorska signed Memorandum of Understanding with BRETS

InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, University of Primorska, reached an important milestone yesterday in their collaboration with Bhutan Regenerative Engineered Timber Systems (BRETS) with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation in innovation and capacity building in wood science and technology.

BRETS is committed to developing climate-resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable forest management and advancing a natural resource-based economy, in line with Bhutan’s constitutional mandate to maintain at least 60% forest cover for future generations. This vision has led to a strategic partnership and collaboration with InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, which is dedicated to advancing wood science, technology and related skills.

With the Memorandum of Understanding partners agreed to collaborate on research and development activities focused on innovative uses of wood in sustainable infrastructure, as well as on capacity building initiatives.

On this occasion, Mr. Karma Thinley, Executive Director of BRETS and Dr. Vito Vitrih, Director of UP IAM, expressed their mutual commitment to a strong and long-term collaboration.
