Aleksandra Rakinić Vidmar

Architect

Aleksandra Rakinić Vidmar is an architect at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM. She is currently working on the reconstruction project of the Galeb building in Koper.

She graduated in 2010 from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, where she received the Trimo Research Award for her diploma thesis. During her studies she attended a summer school at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in Germany. Both independently and as part of a team, she participated in numerous architectural competitions in Slovenia and abroad.

Between 2010 and 2015, she taught freehand drawing, created illustrations for a tourist map of Ljubljana, and in 2020 co-authored a professional article with a psychologist published in the journal ProBauhaus titled “Fields of Use of Sketching in Architecture and the Cognitive Process in Its Creation.”

She has 17 years of design experience working on prominent and award-winning projects in collaboration with established Slovenian architectural offices. These include the Stožice Sports Park, the Planica Nordic Centre, the ELES Beričevo Technology Centre, the renovation of the Cukrarna Gallery, numerous residential and mixed-use buildings, and most recently the renovation of the Cukrarna Palace.

In recent years, through her extensive accumulated knowledge, she has become highly skilled and competent in the fields of construction technologies, preparation of construction details, and architectural supervision on construction sites.
