The 29th Biennial of Design (BIO 29) opens call for designers

The Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), together with the Centre for Creativity (CzK), is opening applications for the 29th Biennial of Design (BIO 29), held from 19 November 2026 to 4 April 2027. The theme of this year’s biennial, Soft Fields, explores how design can open up, redirect, and rearrange knowledge in research, industrial and infrastructure environments.

Applications are open until 26 February 2026 for local and regional designers as well as interdisciplinary practitioners. Selected projects will be included in online collaboration and collaboration at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), focusing on experimentation, collaboration and collective learning.

The cover image for BIO 29 was photographed in the InnoRenew CoE acoustics laboratory to announce curator Martina Muzi. It was taken in an anechoic room designed to absorb sound and create an exceptionally quiet environment for acoustic research.
