Dr. Lei Han, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, successfully defended his PhD at the University of Primorska’s Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies.

His doctoral research focused on the investigation of the viscoelastic behavior of wood modified through thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) densification processes. The work contributes to a better understanding of the mechanical performance of modified wood and its potential applications in sustainable building materials. He was developing this research topic under supervision of Dr. Andreja Kutnar and co-mentorship of Dr. Dick Sandberg, at the Renewable Materials for Healthy Built Environments doctoral program.
