Lei Han received the BIKE-HEI Award at the Faculty of Management’s solemn ceremony

Lei Han, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, received the BIKE-HEI Award at the Faculty of Management’s solemn ceremony, held on 18 December 2025, to mark the faculty’s 30th anniversary.

He received the award for his contribution to the development of the D-Dowel solution, an innovative self-tightening wooden dowel designed for high-precision assembly of solid wood. The solution was developed in cooperation with Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM and researchers Dr. Jakub Sandak, Dr. Mohammad Derikvand and Dr. Matthew Schwarzkopf from InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM.

On this occasion the BIKE-HEI Award was presented as part of the jubilee celebration, highlighting innovation and cooperation between higher education and the wider environment. The anniversary celebrated past achievements while reaffirming the UP Faculty of Management’s commitment to quality education, excellent research and international integration.
