Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, participated at a webinar “Sustainable Interiors”, held online on 26 November 2025.

Dr. Kutnar spoke about wood adhesives and their role in interior design, highlighting how modern, environmentally friendly adhesives can enhance the durability, aesthetic and sustainability of wooden interiors. She also discussed their innovative use in modular and customized elements, showing how careful material choices improve both function and design quality.

The webinar addressed the shift of the interior and furniture industry towards sustainability, focusing on low-emission and circular products. Experts from research and industry presented innovative materials, bio-based adhesives, sealants and circular approaches, while highlighting the challenges that still limit industrial adoption and market integration.

The organizer of the webinar was CLIB, an international open-innovation cluster that brings together companies, start-ups, academic institutions and other stakeholders to promote industrial biotechnology and advance sustainable, circular bioeconomy solutions.
