InnoRenew CoE hosted two educational workshops for Livade primary school students held 20-21 November 2025. The workshops were held within the project Improvement of urban infrastructure for greener city centres of the northern Adriatic (ZeleNatura), co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Programme VI-A Slovenia – Croatia 2021-2027 and organised by Abakkum – Institute for Landscape, Culture and Art in Piran.
One workshop was intended for 5th graders, who explored both the interior and exterior of the InnoRenew CoE building and reflected on green elements in urban space. Afterwards, they took part in a creative and educational activity focused on trees that grow in the local environment and produce edible fruit. Each student selected one tree and drew the outline of a classmate, which served as the base shape of the tree. Then they coloured and decorated it with fruit.
The second day a workshop was held for 6th graders. This group of students took on the role of urban green space planners in Izola and explored how to create a high-quality environment for people, animals and plants. Using black-and-white photographs of selected locations in Izola, they designed their own visions of greener urban areas, adding elements such as tree avenues, rooftop gardens, urban gardens and other types of green infrastructure. Each student also had to include at least one fruit tree. They presented their concepts and discussed ideas for a greener Izola.
At the end of both workshops two insect hotels were presented.
