Dr. Miklós Krész, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, together with Dr. Sylvert Prian Tahalea, from University of Szeged, recently published a scientific article “Betweenness‑Driven Overlapping Label Propagation Community Detection” in international journal Annales Mathematicae et Informaticae.

The article introduces a novel community detection algorithm for complex networks, combining label propagation with betweenness and degree centrality to identify overlapping communities. Tested on standard and synthetic datasets, it improves modularity, stability and detection accuracy.

This research provides new tools for analysing hidden structures in social, computer and other complex networks.
