Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, welcomed at InnoRenew CoE a group of architects from Italy, who are visiting Slovenia to explore examples of innovative timber construction. The visit is organized by the Wood Industry Cluster.

Dr. Andreja Kutnar introduced the InnoRenew CoE’s mission, research areas and activities in sustainable construction and renewable materials. Following, Eva Prelovšek Niemelä, architect and head of creativity & society research group at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, guided the participants through the building, explaining the construction process, structural features and unique aspects of the architecture. The visit concluded with a tour of the research laboratories.

Participants received valuable insights into the scientific research, innovation and architectural practice, highlighting how wood can be used sustainably in contemporary construction.
